While studying abroad in Korea for FREE, these programs give you the opportunity to learn the Korean language, make friends, and volunteer around the city. You can even live on campus with an awesome host family! Two scholarships for Korean students to strive for excellence upon completion of their studies. The Korean government provides two main types of scholarship grants: the GSK (General Scholarship) and the KGSP (Korean Government Scholarship). Here we compare benefits of both of them.
Korean Government Scholarship program (KGSP):
The Korean Government Scholarship (KGSP) program provides opportunities for international students to pursue higher education in the Republic of Korea. The Korean Government Scholarship (KGSP) program was initiated in 1997 to provide international students with financial assistance to study in Korea. Since then it has expanded to be of considerable size, with many colleges being supported by national governments of the students’ home countries.
The Korean Government Scholarship program (KGSP) offers a realistic picture of the daily life of a Korean student. By attending a high school outside South Korea, students acquire personal growth as well as cultural exchange.
Global Korea Scholarship (GSK):
Global Korean Undergraduate Scholarships Program (GKS) is a financial aid program launched by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Korea. The Global Korean Scholarship (GKS) is a new overseas study program that will be available to all areas of study, including majors such as literature, engineering, and the sciences. It aims to provide opportunities for domestic students not only to improve their knowledge and skills in Korea, but also to broaden their international perspectives and abilities through close contact with international society.
The Global Korean Scholarship may be used for tuition, program fees or other charges, transportation, room and meal costs if applicable, insurance, books and supplies. Amount of scholarship is determined by the University awarding the student’s diploma. It is an excellent opportunity for you to overcome differences in culture, language, customs, etc. by experiencing things directly via learning abroad. It will send 4,000 Korean government scholarships to the top 2,000 students selected from around the world for further study both in Seoul and Korea by 2022.
